The scope of work was dismantling parts of the deck structure, design, fabrication and installation of new deck structure and new removable cargo rails. Water cutting was used for Cut-out in existing deck. All electrical work related to the modification was handled by AFOM.
In addition to the deck modification the work included dismantling of crane in level below the “Shlumberger deck”.
AFOM has designed an extension and reinforcement of the walkway on Balder to create a solution that has the strength to carry a forklift. The walkway was around 56 meter and was compiled by 17 parts. It also included extensions to be able to use forklift in and out of the storage areas on deck.
Later on AFOM has extended the walkway with four additional frame lengths.
AFOM has designed and delivered a platform in steel material for storage of 12 chemical tanks. Included was also cargo rails and drip tray. A total of 45t with steel. AFOM carried out a rig survey, and also used 3D scanning to make sure correct interface against existing structure. The project delivery consisted of engineering, purchasing, production follow up, assembly in workshop, removal of old storage platform and installation of the new structure.
AFOM delivered design, fabrication and installation of Shelter roof with walls in aluminum for use on Balder. The construction was fabricated in eight parts to simplify transport and installation.
AFOM delivered design, fabrication and installation of a self-supported access platform in aluminum for use on Statfjord B. The construction was fabricated as two main frames.
